MountainView Hospital is the first HCA Healthcare enterprise and currently the only hospital in Las Vegas to offer an extensive educational and training program to prehospital professionals throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The MountainView Hospital Paramedic Institute (MVHPI) has been approved, recognized, and given post-secondary licensure from the state of Nevada.

The MountainView Hospital Paramedic Institute is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) and Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Paramedic students undergo a 12-month program that involves a robust didactic regimen, labs to support didactic content, and hands-on clinical immersion. Following the completion of the 12-month program, paramedic students will have an additional 15 weeks to complete the SNHD protocol exam, field internship and the NREMT cognitive exam. MountainView Hospital partners with local Fire Departments and private EMS transport agencies who review and support the program. Students attending MVHPI are sponsored by each agency.

To prepare Paramedics who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.

CAAHEP Accredited Paramedic Programs and CoAEMSP Programs track and report outcome measures annually to the Committee on Accreditation for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
