MountainView Hospital will offer a new community class, called “Stop the Bleed,” led by Stacy Johnson, Trauma Manager, at MountainView Hospital.
The focus of the class is to teach, equip and empower non-medical bystanders to master the basics for controlling hemorrhages before help arrives. The class provides education on how to recognize different types of bleeding and take the appropriate measures to control the bleed.
“We are excited to offer this class as an extra resource for our community members in case anyone happens to be in a situation to deal with an uncontrolled hemorrhage,” said Stacy Johnson. “Like CPR, it’s almost like learning another basic life skill.”
The first “Stop the Bleed” class will be March 17 at the MountainView Hospital Spring Fling Health Fair at 11:00am in the Mark Howard/Lobby Classroom. Visit MountainView Hospital to register online, or call (702) 962-5021.
