Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, the closest Trauma Center to the Las Vegas strip, can report that we have treated 180 patients resulting from the shooting late Sunday night; 14 of those patients have died. We are currently notifying next of kin and working with Emergency Services personnel and Las Vegas Metro PD to provide information to families trying to locate loved ones who may be in our care.
On behalf of every Care Team member at Sunrise Hospital we extend our deepest sympathies to these grieving families.
“Our Trauma Center physicians and hospital staff have done an amazing job. So far, we have performed approximately 30 surgeries. This has been an unprecedented response to an unprecedented tragedy. Our trauma team and all supporting nursing units, critical care areas and ancillary services are all at work this morning in the aftermath of this tragedy – and most stayed throughout the night – to help the victims and to assist their loved ones,” said Todd P. Sklamberg, CEO of Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center “I want to commend the staff and our partners in response – Las Vegas Metro PD and emergency services - for their tremendous response to this mass shooting.”
