MountainView Hospital, Cimarron-Memorial High School and Intuitive Surgical, Inc. are teaming up Tuesday, Dec. 6, to teach students about careers in robotics, engineering and medicine. Students who are part of the school’s robotics and engineering clubs and classes will get to test drive surgical robotic systems, shipped to the school by Intuitive Surgical, Inc.
Students will get the chance to interact with Intuitive engineers and technical analysts and surgeons who operate using robotic systems, as well as team members including nurses and hospital staff.
“We are so excited to bring the Intuitive Robotic Surgical System to Cimarron-Memorial High School,” said Eleanor Markle, MountainView Hospital Robotic Program Manager. “We hope connecting the dots between school work and activities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math motivates these students to pursue college degrees and jobs in these highly skilled careers.”
