MountainView Hospital’s Las Vegas Institute for Robotic Surgery has acquired its seventh surgical robot, allowing surgeons more access to the latest equipment for minimally invasive surgery for patients.
MountainView offers seven surgical robotic platforms, including one single-site robotic system. A seventh system devoted to brain and spinal surgeries allows targeted precision in these complex cases.
MountainView Hospital has been leading the way in robotic surgery since 2011. Since that time it has grown to multiple surgical platforms offering the latest in robotic surgical technology and pioneered advanced robotic procedures unique to Nevada, as well as the education of physicians from across the United States.
“Since adding the first robotic surgical system to our suite of OR capabilities 10 years ago, demand from surgeons and patients continues to increase such that additional systems were necessary, as well as the latest in robotic systems” said Julie Taylor, MountainView Hospital Chief Executive Officer. “This latest advanced system allows for more complex, minimally invasive surgeries. The addition of a seventh system allows us to meet the growing demand and needs of our community.”
The latest robotic surgical system acquired by MountainView has the ability to be used for thoracic, colorectal, gynecological, urology and general surgery.
The latest system also has enhanced 3D-HD visualization, giving surgeons a highly magnified view. The system’s overhead arm architecture provides the surgeon anatomical access from virtually any position, simplifying multi-quadrant surgeries. Smaller, thinner arms coupled with longer instrument shafts permit greater range of motion and more flexibility than ever before.
MountainView continues to be the leader in robotic surgery, offering a robust, in-depth training experience for the Graduate Medical Education residents, and an extensive panel of surgeons and pairing them with trained staff and nurses, who are part of dedicated robotic surgical teams.
MountainView offers many different types of robotically assisted procedures including ear, nose and throat (ENT), gynecological and gynecological oncology, urogynecological, urology, thoracic, colorectal and general surgery including single-site gallbladder surgery.
